No fewer than five traders were killed by terrorists at the Madala Market in Niger State because they failed to recite the verses of the Islamic Holy Quran on Thursday, November 19, 2015.
It was gathered that the insurgents had gone to one of the lines where the traders sold their wares and immediately ordered them to recite verses of the Holy Quran.
When they could not recite any verse from the Islamic book, the terrorists opened fire at close range, killing all five of them on the spot.
Four among the the five victims have been identified as John Kalu, Oliver Ezemah, Uche Nguweze, Sunday Emmanuel while the fifth victim is yet to be identified.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Richard Adamu Oguche confirmed the incident.
He disclosed that the police have launched a manhunt aimed at arresting the suspects who escaped before the police arrived the scene.
