A man has broken into a home and forcefully had carnal knowledge of a woman at knife point while her boyfriend watched on in fear.
The 54-year-old man, identified as Tilfert D. Vaughn was arrested and charged to court on Sunday, February 8, 2015 by police officials in the area.
Investigations by the police revealed the the woman woke up in the early hours of Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in her apartment and noticed that the bathroom light was on.
The light was turned off immediately she asked her friend who was inside the bathroom near Glendale and 27th avenues in the United States of America.
She went to check out who was in there only to be shocked by the sight of a naked man armed with a knife who she had earlier met in a bar in Phoenix.
Court documents disclosed that Vaughn forced her to lie down in bed and raped her with the knife held to her throat.
The victim’s terrified 30-year-old partner woke up when Vaughn got in bed, and as the man struggled, his fingers came into contact with Vaughn’s knife, causing deep wounds, according to reports.
The wounds he sustained during the encounter was severe and might need a surgery to repair the nerve damage he sustained during the encounter.
After raping the woman,Vaughn told her, “Now you have a baby. Bless it and take care of it.”
He further dressed up and carted some of the couple’s valuables including sunglasses, toiletries, beer and food, and placed them in an empty apartment nearby before returning to assault the victims, court documents reveal.
Police also requested a court order for Vaughn’s DNA and matched it with physical evidence taken from the victim’s forensic exam.
Meanwhile, Vaughn confessed to have been in the area on the fateful day but refuted the rape allegations leveled against him in the court.
His preliminary hearing will take place next week and his court documents show he does not have a bail set because of the sexual-assault allegations.
