A 30-year-old man, Matthew Brendan Warner, had committed the most unthinkable offense by allegedly raping and killing his 3-weeks old daughter and thereafter dumped her remains inside a pickup truck.
The man who committed the abominable act last Friday was on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 charged to court on the grounds of sexual assault and murder and risks a life imprisonment if convicted of all the charges.
Prosecutors said the Southern California man was not remorseful during a court hearing.
He was charged with one count each of murder, assault on a child causing death, torture, oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 years or younger and aggravated sexual assault of a child.
According to NBC Los Angeles, Warner and his wife reported that their infant daughter, Ellorah Rose Warner, had disappeared from their home in Newhall last Friday.
Then barely 12 hours on, deputies announced they had arrested him after he led them to her body inside a parked pickup truck.
The maternal grandmother of the deceased, and Warner’s mother-in-law, Nan Allison, disclosed that Warner was on probation for drug charges, jobless and was only pretending to love the baby.
On the other hand, Warner’s mother, Victora Law-Thomson countered the claims and said, “He loved his little girl, adored her, and I don’t believe what I’m hearing. It’s just rumors.
She added that the baby could have possibly died from an accident or “sudden infant death syndrome.”
An autopsy was conducted on the deceased baby and the result is yet to be made known.
Meanwhile, a candle light vigil was conducted for her by her family while her dad’s bail was increased to over $2 million.
The case was adjourned for further trial until February 18, 2015.
