Tragedy stuck in Umueze, Enugwu-Achi, Oji-River Local Government Area of Enugu State, when a 14-year-old boy identified only as Ebubechukwu, killed his 3-year-old brother, Akachukwu, with their father’s gun while re-enacting a movie.
The deadly incident occurred when the boys were playing with the gun oblivious that it was fully loaded while their father, Christian Odika, was away for a meeting at their village square at Obodo-Ukwu Enugwu-Akwu last Monday.
A source disclosed that the Mr Odika learnt about the incident while he was still at the village square and rushed back to his house only to meet his lifeless son, Akachukwu, in a pool of his own blood.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident sad that investigations have been launched into the matter.
Amaraizu said: “Investigations into the tragic incident have commenced to ascertain the remote causes, so the law can take its course.”
