Head of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors forum, Godwill Akpabio has had his say as to the decamping of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal from the ruling PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, October 28, 2014.
While speaking to newsmen at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, the Akwa Ibom State gorvernor said the speaker’s defection was not surprising as the PDP had always known that he had such tendencies.
Akpabio also enthused that Tambuwal’s defection did not affect the majority the PDP currently enjoys, urging the speaker to quit his post as speaker.
He said: “We have always known the Speaker as a PDP man in name but APC in action and he has proved it to the world. I will only ask him to be honourable and resign especially as the PDP is not in crisis. I wish the Speaker well in his new party.”
