Following the building collapse a representative of Emmanuel TV, the media section of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), Mr Ken Emeakayi, claimed the collapse on September 12, 2014 was an external attack caused by an aircraft which lingered over the building shortly before it collapsed.
Emeakayi said CCTV video recording from within the church building showed that the strange aircraft flew over the building, adding that it may have been there to discharge explosives that eventually collapsed the structure.
He disclosed this on Monday, September 29, 2014 while speaking as a guest on Sunrise on Channels Television.
He said, “We are investigating the incident for the world to know what actually happened. When you look at the clip you will see that it was not just the aircraft hovering. At the point of the incident, there was explosion. It is possible they were either dropped or planted and the aircraft will have to come and detonate it. The persons in the building said that the noise they heard suggested that it was an explosion. Those involved in the act may not have been aware of the security cameras.”
He further revealed that about four explosives were detonated in the building adding that an explosion could possibly occur without making much noise.
“With modern technologies explosive devices could be detonated without a loud noise. There were about four explosives that were detonated in the building from the much the CCTV could capture and because we know that there would be fragments from the explosive, we are calling for an investigation,” he said.
Furthermore, the spokesperson also disclosed that the senior pastor of the church Prophet T.B Joshua, could have probably been the target of the attack having initially been on the prayer ground shortly before the air craft hovered and the collapse followed suit.
“A strange helicopter was hovering around the prayer mountain when the man of God was there. It was the time he was supposed to be at the mountain but he had left. They thought he was still there but he has gone back to the church. After the man of God left the prayer mountain, this same aircraft came to the church premises. The first time it was sighted was at 11:30 am local time at a very low altitude hovering over this story building and we have clips. It was about 40 feet from the building. The same aircraft hovered about four times. At an interval of nine minutes, five minutes,” he added.
Also, Emeakayi said the church had sent the video clips of the building collapse to security agencies for proper investigation.
However, they have not received any response regarding the length they have gone with the investigation
According to him, an architect, Moyinoluwa Fasanmi, maintained that it was possible for a controlled demolition to happen assuming that explosives would have been planted at the base of the building.
He said, “Explosives are planted at strategic points around pillars that are holding the building, such that when the explosives weaken those points, it will come down. The detonation can be done remotely from anywhere, either with the use of a cell phone or a mobile device.”
He also stated that for the explosives to have been successfully planted, the security of the church must have been violated before the explosives are planted around the premises without any suspicion of the operations by the thousands of worshippers in the Synagogue.
