The Lagos state commissioner for physical planning, Mr Toyin Ayinde during his visit to the collapsed site of the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Ikotun has revealed that the 5-storey church building had no government approval before carrying out its construction.
He disclosed this while speaking to newsmen present at the site on Sunday, September 14, 2014.
The state Commissioner further revealed that after going through the records in his office , he discovered that no permit was handed to the civil engineers before the building was erected and the church engineers are yet to present the new building permit they have received to erect the collapsed building.
Meanwhile, Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola also visited the site on Sunday, September 14, 2014 He sympathized with the church founder, Prophet T.B Joshua and also ordered all church workers to stop work on the site to enable officials of the Nigerian Emergency Management Authority work effectively.
