The Super Eagles had retained their 42nd position in the November Federation of International Football Association, FIFA ranking released earlier today, Thursday, November 27, 2014, notwithstanding that they missed the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
Goal.com reports that the Eagles are now the ninth-ranked African side behind Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Ghana, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Guinea and Senegal despite missing out of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations billed for Equatorial Guinea.
Algeria remain at the summit of African football with 948 points which put them in the 18th position in the world while Tunisia are second in Africa and ranked 22nd in the world while Cote d’Ivoire were third on the continent after amassing 842 points which places them in the 24th spot in the world.
Germany, Argentina and Colombia hold the first, second and third spots in the world respectively as FIFA World Cup hosts Brazil retained their sixth spot in the world.
