Suicide Bomber Injures 8 In Potiskum, Yobe

The Police through the Yobe State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Toyin Gbedegesin, confirmed that an explosion occurred in Potiskum town of Yobe state at 4:20pm on Monday, April 21, 2015 injuring eight people.

This is the first suicide bomb attacks since the conclusion of both the Presidential and Governorship Elections.

Mr. Toyin stated that the incident which took place at the popular Moscow line in the heart of Potiskum town was targeted at a Mosque called “Sakafa” belonging to the Shi’ate Muslim brotherhood.

A source at the Postiskum General Hospital confirms that two of the eight victims are in critical conditions while the others are responding to treatment.

The source also added that the bomber who was brought along with the victims later died in the hospital.

The suicide bomber apart from killing himself and injuring eight persons also set a nearby car ablaze.
