A lawmaker representing parts of Jigawa in the federal house of representatives, Mohammed Gudaji Kazaure, has reportedly shot himself in the leg.
It was learnt that the accidental discharge occurred while he was fidgeting with his pistol.
The lawmaker has been flown to Dubai, United Arab Emirate, UAE, for treatment.
The Trent gathered that the accident occurred in his home when he cocked his pistol and the bullet accidentally went off, hitting his leg and leaving him severely injuries.
Reports indicate that the bullet damaged his three toes which were removed at a specialist hospital in Abuja.
Kazaure was recently made popular when videos of him making commentary on national issues and expressing profuse support for General Muhammadu Buhari went viral .
