Shiites members in Kano took to the streets in their numbers on Thursday to mourn members killed during the Zaria massacre and celebrate the annual birthday anniversary of the Prophet Mohammed, an event that is known as Maulud procession.
According to Sahara Reporters, the Shiites led by Mallam Sanusi Abdulkadir said it has been their practice to partake in the celebratory message of Maulud Nabiy, but this year’s message is different because they are out to mourn the genocidal carnage perpetrated by the Nigerian Army against their member in Zaria.
The Shiites procession witnessed massive turnout of the sect members comprising men, women and children who mostly dressed in black attires.
