Nollywood A-list director and producer, Stephanie Linus, and her husband, Idahosa Linus, the CEO of Del-York International and Media Executive will be attending an event at the Buckingham Palace in support of Queen’s Young Leaders Awards on Monday, June 22, 2015.
The awards were initiated in 2014 by Princes William and Harry and is a prestigious ceremony established by The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust in partnership with Comic Relief and The Royal Commonwealth Society.
Linus launched a campaign for the promotion of this event a few months ago using her blog and social media platforms using the #TheSearchIsOn hashtag. She encouraged young Nigerians who are partaking in worthy leadership and charity causes in their communities to register.
Due to this, four young Nigerian leaders have been selected to receive this award.
They are Isaiah Owolabi of HACEY Health Initiative; Kelvin Ogholi of UNFIRE; Nkechikwu Azinge of The Sickle Cell Aid Foundation and Oladipupo Ajiroba of The Environmental Advocacy and Management Initiative.
They are among 60 inspirational young people within the age bracket of 18-29 years selected across the Commonwealth who are recipients of this award. The ceremony with Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II will hold at 6:00pm, Monday, June 22.
The awardees will also receive a bespoke mentoring, training and networking which will help in actualizing their full potentials. They are expected to go on to inspire other young people in order to shape the future of the Commonwealth.
