HOLLYWOOD, USA – In an announcement that has stirred emotions and excitement in the entertainment community, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce revealed that 31 entertainers, including Kerry Washington and the late Chadwick Boseman, are set to receive stars on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2024.
Kerry Washington, who gained widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Olivia Pope in the TV series “Scandal”, is also among the names set to be immortalized on the celebrated stretch of Hollywood Boulevard.
Also among the honourees are Academy Award-winner Michelle Yeoh, “Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman, who will be honoured posthumously, “Dr. Ken” star Ken Jeong, “Abbot Elementary” actor Sheryl Lee Ralph, and musicians Gwen Stefani and Dr. Dre.
The news of Boseman’s star, in particular, touched many hearts as fans remembered the remarkable talent and legacy of the actor who passed away from cancer in 2020. One fan tweeted, “I’m already crying thinking of the ceremony for Chadwick,” while expressing excitement for Michelle Yeoh’s honor as well.
The honorees will be recognized for their contributions across various categories, including film, television, and music.
“The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people,” said radio personality Ellen K, who chairs the selection committee. “We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway!”
Ken Jeong, best known for “Dr Ken” and “The Hangover” series, expressed his astonishment and gratitude on Twitter. “Hollywood Walk of Fame. Never in my wildest dreams,” he tweeted. “I quit being a physician in the hopes of becoming a character actor, so to be selected for the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I can’t even articulate in words. I still can’t believe it.”

Sheryl Lee Ralph also shared her elation through a video tweet, exclaiming, “Wow, I just have to thank God, I have to thank everybody who considered me for this. I’m overwhelmed. I’m grateful and I’m blessed.”
