The “Dwarf Star” has been discovered to be made entirely of diamond.
The Earth sized gem is 900 light-years away from the earth and 11 billion years old.
The discovery was made at National Radio Astronomy Observatory’s in the United States using Green Bank Telescope.
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Professor David Kaplan said: “It really is a remarkable object.
“These things are out there, but because they are so dim, they are very difficult to find.”
The astronomers say it is possibly the coldest, faintest white dwarf ever discovered.
Researchers suspect that the dwarf star would be no more than a comparatively cool 3,000 degrees Kelvin, around 2,700 Celsius based on reports.
Humans may soon be seek ways to pull this big chunk of diamond down for jewelry.
