[dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter one third of the tournament, it became clear that 3 teams would run the real battle for the title: Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City. Each club has its own advantages, which in the end can lead to the coveted trophy.
This summer, both Liverpool and Chelsea have experienced some serious changes. While the Reds mainly invited new players, who have significantly strengthened the club’s problematic positions, the Aristocrats have appointed Maurizio Sarri to be the head coach.
After an unsuccessful previous season, Chelsea began to show better results. An important role in the team’s performance are played by Jorginho, who came from Napoli, and Kepa, bought from Atletico, who took a position of a goalkeeper. At the beginning of the new championship, Sarri’s team did not simply defeat the opponents, but they did it confidently with a pullaway of a few points. Eden Hazard is in great shape; the team management has talked him out of the transition to Real Madrid.
In the EPL, Chelsea is fighting for the victory, however, in comparison to Liverpool and especially Manchester City, the lineup potential of the Blues leaves much to be desired. There is no particular diversity in the attack, too; here Sarri has only Morata and Giroud. However, earlier the coach has already proved that he is able to achieve good results even with limited financial capabilities.
Today score of the Aristocrats brings optimism, but at this stage, Manchester City has the most chances for the title.
The Citizens’ Chances of Victory
The previous season, Josep Guardiola gathered an almost invulnerable team that managed to score a record 100 points in the Premier League. During the summer, the Citizens make almost no transfers except for Riyad Mahrez, who is more necessary for the depth of the lineup. However, the Algerian has already managed to show himself off by scoring several goals for the City.
The cool lineup and advanced tactical ideas make Guardiola’s squad the most dangerous and unpredictable team for their rivals. Even if the game does not develop according to the coach’s plan, he has repeatedly proves that he is able to make quick adjustments that affect the course of the game. Also, the advantages of the City include:
- quick sides;
- reliable defense;
- good goal chances realization.
Due to this, the Citizens occupy the first position of the standings. However, most part of the championship is still ahead, so their rivals have the opportunity to catch up with Guardiola’s team.
