Hebrews 5:7 NKJV “Who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear.”
Everybody prays, but we do not all pray the same way; everyone prays but not everyone achieves results through prayer. Now this is not about specifying a particular way to pray, but to learn from people who achieved results through prayer. In this year of achievements how we pray matters.
Notice how Jesus prayed, “with vehement cries and tears”, and we are told that He was heard because of His godly fear. Notice again the words used in Romans 8:26 to describe how the Holy Spirit prays; it says that “the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Elijah too was said to have prayed earnestly; as a result it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.
We pray for different reasons at different occasions; but a lot of us don’t seem to take prayer seriously. If this year is going to be different then we must pray differently. Step up your prayer life! It will be a lot easier for us to accomplish great things if we make prayer a part of our daily lives.
