[pull_quote_center]”Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey.” – Judges 6:4 NKJV[/pull_quote_center]
The Bible says that whenever the Israelites planted their crops, marauders from Midian, Amalek, and the people of the east would attack them, camping in the land and destroying crops. They left the Israelites with nothing to eat, taking all their sheep, goats, cattle, and donkeys. Those enemy hordes stayed until the land was stripped bare, and by their actions, Israel was reduced to starvation.
Listen, dear brothers and sisters; it is the nature of the devil to destroy; not just to destroy, but to completely destroy. See what he did to Job in just one day! Satan desires to destroy, and he wants to disgrace. We don’t fear the devil, but we cannot ignore him: we’ve got to resist him with our faith.
Jesus said to Peter, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail.” (Luke 22:31). You see how important faith is? Peter himself later talked about the importance of faith. He said, “Be sober, be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. But resist him, be firm in your faith.” 1 Peter 5:8-9.
When the devil attacks your children with sickness; when he attacks your job, your business, your finances, your marriage or your ministry, that’s not the time to be worried and weak; rise up boldly and aggressively in faith, get the word in your mouth, command the devil to get out, and decree immediate restoration: resist the devil in the name of Jesus and he will flee! Hallelujah!
