Romans 5:3-5 MSG “We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!”
There’s nothing more important than having an understanding of whatever is happening to you at a particular time. Good things and unpleasant things have their purposes, but if we don’t have the right understanding, we won’t have the right attitudes at such times.
Paul said they continued to praise God even when they were in trouble because they knew that trouble produces character and patience, which in turn brings the blessings.
You might be in tough times right now; in pain; your heart may be full of unanswered questions, struggling to believe; you may not even understand what’s going on or how you will come out of it; but I encourage you today to keep on praising the Lord! One thing is sure: that all things are working together for your good!
