[pull_quote_center]Colossians 4:17 NKJV And say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”[/pull_quote_center]
We all have ministries; everyone of us is a minister of some sort. Jesus gave everyone a gift, the purpose being ministry/ service. Romans 12:4 & 6 says, “For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.” Are you aware of the gifts in you? Are you already using them?
To take heed is to pay attention to; it is to focus on something. Ministry requires attention, physically and spiritually; it’s like babysitting; you have a responsibility to pay close attention to it, to be watchful at all times. You know you can’t take your eyes off babies, even when the parents are away, someone else has to be paying attention to them. If you sing or act, dedicate sufficient time to your ministry; Understand every detail of your ministry; that way you can discharge it fully and faithfully.
Paying attention to one’s ministry is important, especially for those who oversee people – Pastors, cell leaders, house fellowship coordinators, Sunday School Teachers, Youth Church Leaders, Students Church Leaders, Children’s Church Leaders, Soul Winners, Worship Leaders and parents too.
Proverbs 27:23 says, “Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and attend to your herds.” And Acts 20:28says, “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.” Ministry is impossible without the minister; so take heed to yourself too, and to the leaders helping you as well.
You will fulfill your ministry in Jesus name.
