[pull_quote_center]”I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!” Proverbs 5:13 NKJV[/pull_quote_center]
The wise man to his son about adultery: “Therefore hear me now, my children, and do not depart from the words of my mouth. Remove your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house, lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel one; lest aliens be filled with your wealth, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner; and you mourn at last, when your flesh and your body are consumed, and say: ‘How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised correction! I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me! I was on the verge of total ruin, in the midst of the assembly and congregation.’”
When students ignore instructions in an exam, they will surely fail. I’m sure that we understand that; so why do we often ignore God’s instructions? The word of God is full of instructions on several subjects, how many of us take them seriously; yet we expect to succeed, and we dare to hold God responsible for our failures. The Bible says that instructions are life!
Job 22:22 says, “Receive, please, instruction from His mouth, and lay up His words in your heart.” My prayer is that we will not only receive His instructions, but that we will also obey them to the letter. Amen.
