[pull_quote_center]”But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.” Luke 14:13-14[/pull_quote_center]
It used to be said that teachers’ reward is in heaven: good teachers do a fantastic job, and it will be nearly impossible to repay them for their labour of love.
Well, Jesus was teaching everyone of us that not everything we do should be motivated by earthly rewards or financial gains. In other words, don’t do things for only people who can afford to pay or repay you; yes, you should do things for free! There are many people out there who need what you can offer, but can’t afford to pay for them: it’s okay to reach out to such categories of people once a while.
Overcome greed and selfishness by doing acts of kindness. Some rewards are greater than money; go for them as well! As you step out today, step out with a different kind of motivation; a desire for heavenly rewards that only God can give.
Have a blessed week.
