John 8:12 CEVDCUS06 “Once again Jesus spoke to the people. This time he said, “I am the light for the world! Follow me, and you won’t be walking in the dark. You will have the light that gives life.”
Darkness refers to obscurity, death, misery, sorrow, confusion, terror, and so on. Jesus said that when we follow Him we won’t experience any of that! No wonder David said that though he walked through the valley of the shadow of death he would fear no evil because God was with him. Hallelujah!
We have the light of the world in us and with us! Hallelujah! How thick the darkness in the world is is irrelevant and inconsequential; we have the Light of the world and we will never walk in darkness!
We have what the world is desperately looking for! Isaiah 60:2-3 says “Darkness now covers the earth, and the people are in darkness. But the Lord will shine on you, and his Glory will appear over you. Then the nations will come to your light. Kings will come to your bright sunrise.” You’re not a nobody; nations are coming to your light; Kings, Governors, Presidents will come to your light in the name of Jesus! Men will hear about you far and wide because you’re a city set upon a hill that cannot be hidden! Wow! Glory to God!
