Proverbs 6:27-28 ERV “If you drop a hot coal in your lap, your clothes will be burned. If you step on one, your feet will be burned.”
Consequences are things that happen as a result of actions done earlier. For every action therefore, there are consequences. There’s the law of cause and effect; it teaches that for every action there is an equal reaction.
What it means is that every day is a time of harvest because we take action every day. Knowingly or unknowingly we are experiencing the effects of our previous actions; every day we reap fruits of seeds sown in the past-both good and bad (except for the grace of God). We are where we are now because of what we did in the past. So, every one of us can determine the kind of harvests we get each day, each month and each year.
You’ve got to stop dropping hot coals on your laps because you will surely be burned! Think carefully about everything you are about to do before you do them! Don’t only think, pray so that your steps can be ordered by the Lord. Your words also have their consequences, so mind your words. May you only see good all the days of your life in Jesus name.
