If there’s anything I’ve learned it’s that it is in our own interest to do what God says to do and not to do whatever He says not to do: in short, it’s to take the word of God seriously.
When God says, “Look, and you will live”, if you look you will live, and if you choose not to look, you will surely die. When God says ” Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation, if you watch and pray you will not fall into temptation, but if you don’t watch and pray, you will surely fall into temptation! If He says, “Give and it will be given unto you”, if you give it will be given unto you, and if you don’t, it will not be given unto you in full measures. It’s the same for every word He has spoken.
Every single word that God speaks is to be taken seriously. It’s only the devil that will tell you that it won’t happen as God has said it would, just as he deceived Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden; you know the rest of the story and the consequences of their actions. If there’s anything I want to say today, it’s that God is wiser than us.
He’s an authority on whatever He talks about; the Scripture says that He cannot lie! Has He said a thing and shall it not come to pass? Receive His counsel for life and living; receive His word for success and prosperity; receive His wisdom for healing and eternal life: incline your ears to His sayings, don’t despise His counsel; they are life to those who find them and the genuine source of happiness. Do His word and it shall be well with you.
