His daughter danced so well on his birthday, and in a state of excitement he promised to give her anything she wanted. She asked for the head of John the Baptist. King Herod wasn’t expecting such a request from her, and even though it was a difficult thing for him, he fulfilled his promise to her.
King Herod fulfilled his promise. Think about that for a minute. He wasn’t such a nice man. But he honoured his word! Herod couldn’t have been better, or more reliable than God. That’s the point.
They say that a promise is a debt. I’ve got good news for you today, and it’s that God always pays whatever He owes! It may not come when you expect it, but He’s surely going to fulfill it. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 says, “He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” So don’t give up; don’t stop believing; your miracle is on the way! Hallelujah!
