[pull_quote_center]”But to the tribe of Levi Moses had given no inheritance; the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance, as He had said to them.” Joshua 13:33[/pull_quote_center]
We talk a lot about our inheritance in Christ; yes, we do have an inheritance in Christ: but we always refer only to things that we can get and enjoy, oblivious of the fact that God Himself is the main inheritance that we need.
When God becomes your inheritance, wow, you will have everything else! God was the inheritance of the Levites, therefore, all that belonged to God, the tithes, firstfruits and other sacrifices was given to them!
David understood it. He wasn’t a Levite, but he made God his inheritance. He said, “O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.” Psalms 16:5-6. He made God his inheritance, and because of that the lines fell unto him in pleasant places and he got the best inheritance!
I like the Amplified and CEV translations of Psalm 16:5-6: The Amplified says, “The Lord is the portion of my inheritance, my cup [He is all I need]; You support my lot. The [boundary] lines [of the land] have fallen for me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.” CEV says, “You, Lord, are all I want! You are my choice, and you keep me safe. You make my life pleasant, and my future is bright.”
He’s all we need! When He becomes all we want, He will make our life so beautiful! Amen!
