Psalms 29:1-2 NKJV “Give unto the Lord, O you mighty ones, Give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”
Have you ever wondered what glory means? Well, it has a number of meanings depending on the context. One of its meanings is “public praise, honour, and fame”; it also means “something that brings praise or fame to someone or something: something that is a source of great pride.”
When you give God credit for your achievements, that is, when people ask you how you did it and you say it was God or that it was by His grace, you’re praising God publicly and making Him famous, thus giving glory to Him. When you sing a special song to Him, dance, and testify of His goodness in the presence of others like David did, you’re giving God glory. God said that whoever offers praise glorifies Him (Psalm 50:23). Hallelujah!
God has done so much for us, for me especially! In fact, my name means “God does it for me!” And for all He’s done, we must not hesitate to glorify Him, neither should we withhold His glory from Him. Don’t go to church with a mind of just receiving from God, forget about yourself and your needs for a while and give Him glory! Dance as if no one is watching, sing, even with a cracked voice! Give God glory due to His name!
