As soon as Jesus saw the man, He immediately knew that sin was the cause of his problem; and without a word from the man, Jesus quickly forgave him. Amazing. Such great love! In deed, love covers a multitude of sins! We avoid God because of our sins, not realizing that He is so eager to forgive us, more than we are eager to receive His forgiveness.
A lot of us have a wrong understanding of God; we have made Him like us, men, in our minds; because it’s difficult for us to forgive, we think it’s also difficult for God to forgive: but think about it, while we were yet sinners, He sent Christ to die for our sins! He made provisions for our forgiveness long before it dawned on us that we needed it. What a God! Psalms 86:5 says, “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.” Hallelujah!
Receiving forgiveness is so easy! It’s as easy as opening your mouth and saying that you are sorry! I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Hell is not for us, and no man has to go there! God’s forgiveness is free and it’s available every second of the day! Have you sinned? “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” You can receive the blessing of forgiveness, of grace and mercy, right now, where you are!
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
