II Samuel 13:6 NKJV “Then Amnon lay down and pretended to be ill; and when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let Tamar my sister come and make a couple of cakes for me in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.”
The world is full of deceivers. The aim of these guys is to mislead you into doing things you may not have done under normal circumstances; they also seek to defraud you and to obtain what they wouldn’t have gotten by merit.
People have been deceived into marriage, just as Jacob was deceived into marrying Leah. Others have been deceived into parting with their money. Truth is that almost every one of us has been deceived in one way or another; by politicians, business people, spouses, kids, friends, employers, subordinates, and sadly by even people who come in the name of God.
Deception hurts, and it’s more painful when we have to live with its consequences for very long times. Psalms 38:12 says “Those also who seek my life lay snares for me; Those who seek my hurt speak of destruction, And plan deception all the day long.” Don’t be deceived. Be discerning. Make good judgments. Be led by the Spirit. Be wise.
To do: Ask God for guidance and to deliver you from the schemes of all deceivers out there. Pray for the spirit of discernment and for wisdom and for good judgment.
