Acts 5:17-20 NKJV “Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with indignation, and laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison. But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, ‘Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.’”
When there are floods, plane crashes, kidnaps, hostages, collapsed buildings, etc, rescue operations are organized in order to save the people affected. It’s not always easy; sometimes it takes days and months, and they are not always successful.
The apostles were arrested by the authority of their day for preaching the gospel, and they were locked up in prison. That got the attention of Jehovah, and He sent an angel, just one angel, to rescue them! I like how the rescue operation was done: here’s what the soldiers reported: “Indeed we found the prison shut securely, and the guards standing outside before the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside!” It was a smooth operation! Hallelujah!
Today, you are coming out of every form of bondage, in the name of Jesus! Psalms 91:3 says, “Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.” And Psalms 124:6-8 says, “Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth!”
