Spirit And Life Devotional: Celebration Of A Purpose Fulfilled

Must read

After He was mentioned at the age of twelve, the Bible didn’t talk about Jesus until when it was time for Him to begin His ministry. Many people have researched a lot to know about those eighteen years of Jesus’ life. Trust me, if it was important God would have revealed it to us. God is purpose-driven. Every time you see Him move or speak, it is for the fulfilment of a purpose. We didn’t hear about Jesus until He was thirty, when it was time to fulfil His purpose for coming to the world.

The reason we celebrate Christmas today is not just because Jesus was born, but because He achieved all that He was sent here for. If He had yielded to Satan’s temptations, if He listened to Peter, or if in Gethsemane He chose not to die, there wouldn’t have been any reason to celebrate today.

We love to celebrate birthdays but how many of us are really fulfilling God’s purposes for our lives? Birthdays would be more meaningful if we are celebrating the accomplishment of God’s divine purposes for our lives. Birthdays should be special times in our lives for reflection and assessment.

It’s not late to discover your purpose and to start fulfilling it. Fulfilling your purpose is what will make you fulfilled in life.
