Genesis 14:14 NKJV “Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan.”
Hebrews 13:1 says, “Let brotherly love continue.” Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35.
Jesus let’s us know who our brothers are: “But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Luke 8:21. We are to love one another.
Abraham risked his life just to rescue Lot. He inconvenienced himself, sacrificed his own freedom that Lot would be free. Jesus asked us, not just to love others as we love ourselves, but to love others as He loved us. 1 John 3:16 says, “This is how we know what real love is: Jesus gave his life for us. So we should give our lives for each other as brothers and sisters.”
