2 Corinthians 8:7 ERV “You are rich in everything—in faith, in speaking ability, in knowledge, in the willingness to help, and in the love you learned from us. So now we want you to be rich in this work of giving too.”
God will never ask you not to give to Him. He has already asked us to give, so don’t expect a counter instruction. Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
The believers in Macedonia were poor, but we are told that they were very generous givers! They gave more than they could afford and begged again and again to give! This they did willing, not being cajoled; they didn’t need someone to preach a wonderful sermon before they were inspired to give.
It is more blessed to give than to receive! Decide to become a big time giver! Give to the poor; give for the work of God; give and keep giving! The widow of Zarephath opened the door of prosperity by giving Elijah of her last meal! Why? Because God loves cheerful and generous givers, and because giving is a proof of love: God is love! Hallelujah!
