Jeremiah 15:2 ASV “And it shall come to pass, when they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith Jehovah: Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for captivity, to captivity.”
That’s what sin does, it causes death; the wages of sin is death. Because they rejected God, the Israelites were appointed to death.
But for us who have believed, 1 Thessalonians 5:9 ASV says “For God appointed us not into wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Hallelujah!
We are vessels of mercy called by God to obtain glory! We have been delivered from death! Eternal life is ours in Christ! Hallelujah! We shall not die but live, and we shall enjoy the divine life that we have received every day of our lives!
