“Ahithophel was the royal adviser. Hushai the Arkite was the king’s friend.” 1 Chronicles 27:33

In a kingdom, there are advisers, soldiers, servants, manager, trainers, and more, but it’s amazing that one was called the king’s friend. That’s a special role and a unique kind of relationship.
In the Bible, it’s worthy of note that not everyone was referred to as a friend of God: many were called servants, children and so on, but only a very few were called friends.
A friend has access to secrets and information that others don’t have. Jesus said to the disciples, “I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.” John 15:15
The good news is that we can all be friends of God. Jesus showed us how: He said,”You are my friends if you do what I command.” John 15:14. A life of obedience qualifies us for friendship with God.
Prophetic Declaration
I will live a life of complete obedience from today; I will walk in close fellowship with God, spending quality time with Him, seeking His will and live a life that pleases Him. Amen.
