As we continue in our walk with God we must ensure that we are carrying our children along; we must pass the truth on to them and ensure that they are not just hearers of the truth but doers of the truth.
A good job was done on Timothy by his mother and grandmother. Paul acknowledged them when he wrote to Timothy: “I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that the same faith continues strong in you.” 2 Timothy 1:5
Our generation must raise the next generation of Timothys; sons and daughters who will grow up to be mighty instruments in the hands of the Lord. It’s our collective responsibility as parents, teachers, uncles and aunties, and ministers of the Gospel. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.”
Prophetic Declaration
I declare today that I will faithfully perform my duty as a parent and guardian to the children and to the Lord. I will teach them the truth and ensure that they live according to it. I will always pray for them, and ensure that they do not go astray and become worldly. So help me God. Amen.
