“’What sorrow awaits my rebellious children,’ says the Lord. ‘You make plans that are contrary to mine. You make alliances not directed by my Spirit, thus piling up your sins.'” Isaiah 30:1 NLT

The Israelites did not consult God, they went to Egypt for help; they put their trust in Pharaoh’s protection. So God told them, “By trusting Pharaoh, you will be humiliated, and by depending on him, you will be disgraced.”

That’s the mistake a lot of us make, we put our trust in men instead of putting our trust in God. We are quick to make phone calls to people than we are to pray. Many times, we run to God only when others have disappointed us.

There’s tremendous blessing we receive by putting our trust in God. Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, “Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”

Trusting God should be a lifestyle, a habit. When you commit your day and your plans to God it shows that you trust Him. When you ask for His directions before making decisions it shows that you trust Him. Involve God in all your activities, big and small; He wants to be a part of our lives; He wants to help us. Trusting in Him and seeking to know His plans keep us in His will for our lives, and when we are in His will, there’s peace, protection and prosperity. Amen.
