“You will be driven from human society. You will live in the fields with the wild animals, and you will eat grass like a cow. Seven periods of time will pass while you live this way, until you learn that the Most High rules over the kingdoms of the world and gives them to anyone he chooses.’” Daniel 4:32 NLT
On one fateful day, Nebuchadnezzar was taking a walk on the roof of his royal palace in Babylon. As he looked out across the city, he said, “Look at this great city of Babylon! By my own mighty power, I have built this beautiful city as my royal residence to display my majestic splendor.” While he was still speaking, judgement was pronounced against him from heaven, and he was made to live like an animal for seven years until he learned to acknowledge God as the source of all his blessings.
When Peter and John raised the lame man and everyone was looking at them in amazement, Peter quickly said to them, “Why are you surprised at this? You are looking at us as if it was our power that made this man walk. Do you think this was done because we are good? No, God did it!”
You have a great job; you are a superstar; your business is prospering; you are excelling in school; your family is fine without issues; and you have acquired properties; and you are beginning to think that you are too much. Hey! 1 Corinthians 4:7 says, “What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?” Brothers and sisters, there’s nothing to boast about; you are what you are by the grace of God! God did it, not you; give Him the glory!
