[pull_quote_center]”And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful.” Titus 3:14 NKJV[/pull_quote_center]
Here’s the Amplified Version of the verse above: “And let our own [people really] learn to apply themselves to good deeds (to honest labor and honorable employment), so that they may be able to meet necessary demands whenever the occasion may require and not be living idle and uncultivated and unfruitful lives.”
You see, every child of God must, or is required to be involved with helping the needy. You’ve got to make it a top priority; every time you earn money let it be at the back of your mind that you’ve got to help those in need; it’s got to be a lifestyle; don’t wait to be told to do so, seek such opportunities to be a blessing to people who are in need of assistance. Don’t be selfish.
And that’s why every child of God should work! You can’t steal, and you can’t continue to be idle: if you’re unwilling to work for others, then do business. There’s profit in all labour. Ephesians 4:28 says, “Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.” Paul told the believers in Ephesus, “I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Don’t work just to make a living; make a giving.
