It was David who said that he was glad when they said to him, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.” It was also David who said, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you.'” Why? He said, “Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek your good.” The man loved the house of God; the house of God was always on his mind, no wonder he gave his special treasure for the building of the house of God!
If I know where your heart is, I can tell where your treasure is. In other words, I can tell by the things you love and are passionate about where your money and time are spent. Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
There’s no man that loves God that has a problem with giving to Him. Check yourself, whenever giving to God becomes a challenge, check, your heart is probably far away from Him! And I’m not talking about putting N20 or N500 in the offering bag, that’s easy for some of you; I’m talking about giving to Him consistently; giving to Him something that is a treasure; giving to Him something that costs you something.
Listen, this is not really about giving but about loving God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, with all your mind, with all your time and with all your resources! Giving is not the challenge, it’s really about the greatness of your love for Him. God loves a cheerful giver whose heart is in his giving! Hallelujah!
