Acts 3:12 “And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? Or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?”
When Pharaoh asked Joseph about his ability to interpret dreams, Joseph replied, “It is not in me: God shall give Pharoah an answer of peace.” Genesis 41:16. Same thing happened when Nebuchadnezzar asked Daniel if he could interpret his dreams; Daniel replied, “There is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets.” Daniel 2:28.
Joseph, Daniel and Peter did not claim to be anything special; they gave God credit for the things that they were able to do.
We must never ascribe God’s glory to ourselves. Whatever we possess, be it gifts, skills or resources, they are all from Him. Taking credit for what God enabled you to do is pride, but when we give God credit we are glorifying Him before men, and He will continuue to elevate us. Let God be magnified through you. Amen.
