[pull_quote_center]”Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.” – Revelation 21:1[/pull_quote_center]
This present world is going to pass away. In other words, this present world is going to be destroyed by fire and will cease to exist just before the final judgment. 2 Peter 3:7 says, “But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”
The earth is not going to be “renewed” as some think and teach, it’s going to be no more. A new heaven and earth means that the old ones will cease to exist. This present earth is corrupted and will not be redeemed; it would be destroyed.
We’re going to have a new home! It’s going to be a much better place, even better than the garden of Eden! It’s going to be a place of righteousness and holiness; nothing sinful will be in it, and Jesus will dwell with us! It’s something that should excite every true believer, and we should be determined to make it there. We will make it, in Jesus name. Amen.
