2 Corinthians 3:5-6 KJVA “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”
Unlike man, God is not looking for men who are qualified, capable and experienced to work for Him; no one is ever qualified for such a high calling; rather, He looks out for men who are faithful and then He makes them fit for whatever assignment He has for them.
It really doesn’t matter how long we’ve been in faith and have been serving the Lord, the truth is that on our own we are never sufficient. We will always need to be dependent on the Spirit. We will always need His grace, His power, His wisdom and His directions as long as it’s His work that we are doing and not our own “thing”.
We are able! We are able now, not tomorrow, now! We received power when the Holy Spirit came upon us! Hallelujah! So stop judging yourself by the words of your teachers in school; stop seeing yourself through the eyes of men around you; stop assessing yourself with your past mistakes and performances in other endeavours! Because this is not just you doing your thing any more; but God working in you, with you, through you and by you! Glory to God!
To do: Thank God for His ability that is at work in you. Ask Him for more grace to live for Him and do what He has called you to do, and for the grace to remain faithful and dependent on Him.
