Noah, Daniel and Job were righteous men in their generations, and for their righteousness they were able to stand in the gap for others. Noah saved his family; Job interceded for his family, and Daniel interceded for his nation. But you see, the Bible says in Isaiah 64:6 that all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags. So we cannot even begin to rely on ours or anyone else’s righteousness to save us.
Only the righteousness of Jesus matters now. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says “For He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” So you see, we cannot be delivered by our own righteousness, but we will surely be delivered by His own righteousness which He has given to us! Hallelujah!
Hebrews 7:25 says, “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”
