Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.
“And they came near before Eleazar the priest, before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the rulers, saying, ‘The Lord commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers.’ Therefore, according to the commandment of the Lord, he gave them an inheritance among their father’s brothers.” – Joshua 17:4 NKJV
The daughters of Zelophehad: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah had met Moses to demand to be included in the sharing plan so that they got their own inheritance among their tribe in the Promised Land in order to keep their father’s name alive, since they had no brother. Moses consulted God and God agreed with the ladies and instructed that they be given their own portion, which was non-transferable.
Years later after the Israelites had entered the Promised Land, Moses was dead and Joshua was the new leader, and the allotment was going on. Nobody remembered what was said about the ladies and they were being left out. Realising that they wouldn’t get what God promised them, they went to meet Joshua and reminded him of the word of God; and that’s how they got their inheritance.
What has God’s word said concerning you that is not yet a reality? And you are just there, looking, waiting for it to manifest when you should be making demands and taking it by force! God said in Isaiah 43:26, “Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; state your case, that you may be acquitted.” Brothers and sisters, let nothing rob you of your inheritance in Christ! Become violent in spirit and take it by force! You will not lose your inheritance in Jesus name!
