“You shall laugh at destruction and famine, and you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.” Job 5:22 NKJV
Famine refers to extreme scarcity, shortage, and hunger. People don’t laugh in times of famine; hunger doesn’t make people laugh, it actually kills; when there’s famine there’s worry and anxiety in the land. But God says that we His children shall laugh at famine!
You’ve got to understand that God is not the One responsible for famine. There’s only one person who steals, kills and destroys; that’s the devil. Now, just because you are in a particular place doesn’t mean that you should share in the experiences of the people there: understand that you are in covenant with Jehovah because of which even when others are crying for lack you will be at ease!
In the time of famine, Isaac made investments at the instruction of the Lord, and in the same year he had returns of a hundredfold! That’s exactly how to laugh at famine!
Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
So shall it be for you, in the name of Jesus!
