When Rotimi Amaechi yanked a whooping N30 billion from Rivers treasury and injected it into Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign and Attahiru Jega consequently made Muhammadu Buhari president via 1.9 million votes without any void vote in Kano, almost everybody said Amaechi is now a free man in spite of the monumental money theft he carried out whilst in office as governor of Rivers state. People believed Buhari would protect him from the long arm of the law, but surprisingly, the reverse is the case.
Paradoxically, the supposed free man is a slave to Buhari, instead of being protected from his sins, he is now being caged with his sins to remain a puppet and willing tool in the hands of Buhari and by extension the Kaduna Mafians at least till Buhari ceases to be president.
As it stands today, Amaechi is the most vulnerable politician in the country, in fact, he is more prone to being jailed than even those in the opposition. I said so because, with the petition by The Integrity Group against him (though ignored by Saraki), his indictment by the Justice George Emereji-led Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by Rivers state government, and the subsequent shameful manner APC senators screened and confirmed him, the aforementioned factors have given Buhari enough evidence and reasons to nail Amaechi if he ever think of going against him.
This means that instead of Buhari to be indebted to Amaechi for stealing Rivers money for his election, Amaechi is now indebted to Buhari for sacrificing his phantom integrity for his monumental corruption. In a nutshell, Rivers state and by extension PDP have succeeded in putting Amaechi at the mercy of Buhari, against the initial assertion of his supporters that he would be a decision maker in the government.
The issue now is this, if Amaechi is completely at the mercy of Buhari, and Dakuku is ridiculously tied to Amaechi’s apron string, then the Hausa/Fulani evil plan for Rivers state would be implemented to the letter if Dakuku becomes governor of the state because, Amaechi cannot say “no” to Buhari unless he wants to go to jail, and Dakuku cannot say “no” to Amaechi unless he wants to face a political battle he cannot win. No wonder the unpopular nullification of Wike’s victory by the compromised Justice Ambrosa, triggered wide spread jubilations in Kaduna, Kano, Kastina and other states in the core north, while here in Rivers state, 88% of the people were sad about the judicial manipulation. The same thing played out during the shameful screening and confirmation of Amaechi, the people who celebrated it on social media were Hausa/Fulanis, while majority of those from Rivers state and South South, even South East never celebrated the shameful act that institutionalized corruption in the country.
Finally, my good people of Rivers state, we must defend the mandate we freely gave Wike, we must resist any intimidation or manipulation from Buhari.
