Is it true that some Nigerians are worried that Muhammadu Buhari’s upcoming meeting with President Barack Obama is a plot by the USA to impose same-sex marriage on Nigeria? That’s ignorance at work.
Last time I checked, the USA just achieved marriage equality despite its progressive leanings. Marriage is the last thing on gay folks’ minds in Nigeria.
The homophobic Nigerian Senate, that couldn’t legislate against child marriage, named the assented bill Same Sex Marriage Bill so as to deceive the unsuspecting Nigerians who think marriage is God’s best answer to humankind. You know Jesus was married, right?
No, we are not talking marriage here.
I’m sure Obama won’t be talking about marriage also.
We are talking about protection of human rights under the law, irrespective of sexual orientation.
No Nigerian should have to go to jail just because of whom they love. #StopThePropanganda #Live
