“I borrowed $75m (N14.7b) more because PDP looted the state treasury”. – Edo Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
And I ask Governor Oshiomhole, is he now saving for the next administration or doing what is worst than looting?
How much of Edo State’s debt, incurred by the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) administration, that Oshiomhole’s administration is now paying?
Tell governor Adams Oshiomhole that he can not fool us anymore beyond his majorly uncoordinated loquacity. Tell him also to stop the evil he is perpetuating against our future generations. Edo state is now ranked 4th most indebted state in Nigeria under Oshiomhole’s watch.
I would’ve be on the side of Governor Oshiomhole, had Edo State also became the 4th most progressive state in terms of industries, agriculture, health care, youth employment, security, and other key indicators of good governance.
I would’ve supported Oshiomhole to take more loans if he had commenced and completed the Egelegele Seaport.
I would’ve supported Oshiomhole to take more loans if his government had open up the hinterlands and attracted big farmers to every local government area of the state.
I would’ve supported Oshiomhole to take more loans if the Olympic Village at Igara was revamped and upgraded.
I would’ve supported Oshiomhole to take more loans if some multinational power companies was attracted to utilise the gas deposit in Orhionmwon for power generation and wealth creation.
I would’ve supported Oshiomhole to take even more loans if he had revamped the rubber plantation in Urhonigbe and attracted tyre manufacturing mega factory to that locality.
It only takes a leader who pays very high premium on corporate governance and global best practices to earn the confidence of multinationals.
It takes a leader, who is dispassionate, disinterested and value truth, to succeed. Oshiomhole may have succeeded, but that success could only be defined by him. Selfish success doesn’t last long.
A good leader is the one who says and does what he says. A good leader is the one who builds rather than destroy.
Does he think that he can continue to use his loquacity to perpetually hoodwink and cajole us?
Let Oshiomhole realise that reputation can only be sustained with truth.
