My attention has been drawn to an online publication titled, “Nigeria’s SSS accuses Biafra activists of killing, burying 5 ‘Hausa-Fulani’ resident” alleging that “Nigeria’s spy agency, SSS, has discovered mass graves of ‘Hausa-Fulani’ residents abducted and murdered by suspected members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, in Abia State.”
There is no iota of truth in that publication but the misrepresentation of facts calculated to tarnish the good image of Ndigbo and Nigeria’s unity.
In as much as I do not subscribe to ethnic sentiments, I am sensitive to the malaise of ethnic distrust in the country, I Comrade Princewill Onyekachi am not a member of the IPOB nor a Biafra activist, I am a Nigerian youth, I believe in ONE NIGERIA where we all will live in harmony with one another, i believe in Nigeria where peace, love prevail and the rule of law.
For the avoidance of doubt and to set the records straight; anybody that knows IPOB will attest to the fact that it is an unarmed Biafra agitators, agitating for freedom, it is the height of mischief and irresponsibility for anybody to insinuate that the IPOB could be a party to the devilish acts.
It becomes a matter of urgency for the DSS to tell Nigerians the location of the mass grave and to provide evidence on this issue, failure to do so, Nigerians and the International Community should see the SSS statement as an attempt to accuse Mr Nnamdi Kanu wrongly and a plot to tarnish the good image of Ndigbo and Nigeria’s unity.
For this reason, I have drawn the attention of Nigerians and the International Criminal Court in this case. As a Nigerian, we are interested in this case and we (Nigerians) shall follow this information to the end.
I am urging IPOB to remain peaceful, non-violent and law abiding at all times, not minding the state violence recently visited unleashed on them.
I called on the press and the general public to disregard the misleading and wicked insinuation aimed at portraying Ndigbo in bad light. I urge every Nigerian to continue living in peace and harmony with one another and to see themselves as a Nigerian first.
